- The characters in White Bird are Sara (narrator who is telling her personal account to the war over facetime), Julien (who is listening to his grandmother's personal account), Julien (that is involved in her story), Sara's parents and Julien's parents. The trouble in White Bird is that Germany was invading France, capturing Jews and killing them. Sara, the main character, is Jewish. The setting of the story takes place in Sara's home, in France.

- The conflict in White Bird that leads to the climax is Sara's school being told to take the Jews and give them to the Germans. The school told the kids to hide in the forest with a teacher, but Sara hid in the school. The students who hid in the forest were found and taken away but Sara wasn't found.
- Resoloution
- The climax of the novel is when Julien (a boy from Sara's school) followed her to where she was hiding and told her to come to his barn. Sara went to Julien's barn where she was safe from the Germans. Julien and his parents moved hay to block Sara from being seen by the Germans. They took care of her until the war ended.
- Sara and Julien ventured out of the barn to see Blue Bell flowers in the forest together. This was risky because the Germans were always on the hunt for Jews to encapture. Sara didn't realize this would be the last adventure she had with Julien. The next morning Sara and Julien's parents could not find Julien. Julien had been taken away by the Germans because they suspected he was hiding a Jew.
- The resolution of White Bird occured when Sara and her father reunited a few years after the war ended. Sara's father sent a letter to her and that enbabled them to finally rejoin. After Sara finishes telling the story of the war to her grandson Julien, Julien finds current events ufair. Julien protests the events by holding a sign in the street with other protesters.
