  • Lewis and Clark expedition-1804
  • Oooh! New plant!
  • Why should we help you explore Louisiana?
  • As the great duo of Lewis and Clark we order you to help us through our journey of finding new plants and species! We need to know what we just bought!
  • Trail of Tears-1830
  • Come on! Andrew Jackson said your out of here by 1830! We need to expand to our land to your homes so you have to move out!
  • Battle of Gonzales-1835
  • You Mexicans! You want to retrieve our cannon that we have to fight of the Indian attacks? Well you will have to fight us for it!
  • From the perspective of the US the Lewis and Clark expedition was significant because it altered the imperial struggle for the control of North America, specially in the pacific northwest, but it also helped strengthen their claim to the west and pacific. As from the perspective of the Indigenous people the Lewis and Clark expedition was anything but a positive experience, after all this was the start to an era of terrible loss for the indigenous people, the expedition caused disease like the chicken pox and sent them all into poverty.
  • Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo-1848
  • Good treaty
  • New land!!
  • The Trail of Tears is a significant event for the Natives because, it was a time where they lost their family, land, and ancestry, they weren't only forced to leave their land they were forced to leave their family history. Trail of tears were also significant for the U.S. then because it was a time where they gained, they gained not only in their land but also in their confidence, they felt more powerful because they were able to force the Natives out of their homes.
  • Treaty with Great Britain-1846
  • Have fun with Oregon
  • Thanks
  • The Battle of Gonzales was a significant event for the Texans because, this contributed to the Texas revolution, since it gave them independence, it proved to Texans that the Mexican Army could be defeated, and independence won (they also got their canon back aka the whole reason of this fight). Battle of Gonzales was also significant to the Mexicans because they have failed to win the fight and it was also the start to Texas becoming a free state therefore detaching from Mexico.
  • Ghost Dance-1869
  • Follow Wovoka and do the Ghost dance, so we can renew everything!
  • This was significant for Mexico because due to this, they had to announce their devastating loss to U.S. and admit that Texas was finally independent. For U.S. this was significant on because they gained huge new pieces of land and got to show their independence. However, the fight over what to do with it took center stage.
  • therefore they made the modified and fairly agreed on treaty. The Oregon Treaty was also significant to the U.S. because they gained new land, and they also contributed more to the idea of “Manifest Destiney”.This Treaty was significant to Britain because, the British were also disinclined to fight a war with the United States over this territory
  • The Ghost dance was a significant event for the natives because they believed it would promote the return of the dead and the restoration of traditional ways of life, therefore restoring things back to the way it was before the westward expansion that ruined their land and homes. Ghost Dance was also significant to the U.S. because this was seen as a large threat to their “Manifest destiny”, they thought since they were talking about restoring things like it was before, there would start to be attacks on white settlers and stopping the westward expansion.
