- Hi my name is Anunit and my little sister is named Anunitl and I will be explaining the ancient Mesopotamian religion. The structure behind me is the ishtar gate an example of sacred Sumerian Architecture.
- Our government were first the priests in the first century and they were in charge of our religion and they took care of our temple. Our government and religion were connected, not separate. Priests being in charge shows this. We then had kings as our government which were also apart of taking care of our religion . And then our gods and goddesses became our government.
- Our civilization is polytheistic which means that we believe in many gods and goddess. We would sacrifice animals to our gods so that they could give us good products so that we can live a good life. We would sacrifice animals in a temple called the ziggurat. Worshiping our gods was part of our daily lives.
