- Most of the people here were young teenage boys, some not even legally old enough to be in the army. But here they were, getting a prep talk for the battle from their Sergeant about how they need to be prepared.
- This is serious, we have already had many men die on the front shore of Hiroshima!!
- What have I gotten myself into?
- It was a long ride on the Navy ship to get to Iwo Jima, and no one was looking forward to getting to the island, because of what they have previously heard.
- The men were getting to the shore, and as the boat doors opened many of the men started to realize that this was the point where they either make it to cover or die trying.
- WE ARE UNDER HEAVY FIRE!
- VICTORY
- American planes as well as Japanese planes we providing the men on the ground air support as much as they could, but there was still many casualties.
- The American forces were pushing up Mount Surabachi which would finally allow them to win this bloody battle on Iwo Jima, but the Japanese forces were just laying down heavy fire down on the American troops.
- The American troops finally cleared the Japanese forces on the top of the hill, and planted the American flag on the top of Mount Surabachi, which put an end to one of the bloodiest battles that America had ever fought.
