- King Louis XlV was crowned at the age of 4. he ruled during one of its most brilliant periods and he remains as the symbol of absolute monarchy
- After the war known as Fronde, the war fled Louis XlV to Paris where he had made a palace known as Versailles. This Plastics was the center of political power and was a symbol of the king's dominance.
- It took over two decades for the family to have King Louis so they believed that he was specials. They christened Lousi-dieudonne which means "gift of god". Rule By Driven Power.
- Louis used intendants, or administrative officers, to establish royal power in the provinces. He increased their numbers and functions; and used them to reform regional financial, judicial, and legal systems. By diminishing the power of the nobility and eliminating feudalism, Louis XIV transformed France into a centralized state and became one of its most powerful monarchs. Politic sovereignty
- King Louis saw French Protestants as potential enemies. After trying to take them by force, he revoked the Edict of Nantes which graunted freedom and worship in 1685. Checks and balances
- He was known for corruption and had accumulated immense power and wealth. Louis XIV imposed direct taxes on the aristocratic population for the first time in French history.
