- Write a five-hundred word essay about how technology is ruining American schools
- Bronwyn, Nate, Cooper, and Addy are wrongfully sent to detention after somebody bugged their backpacks with phones which didn't belong to them. Little did they know they had been bugged by Simon, the creator of their high school's notorious gossip app.
- Mr. Avery, the teacher of these kids, has a strict phone policy, and has the students write an essay about how technology is ruining schools before promptly leaving the room. None of these students are in shape to write this essay due to the conditions they are in.
- After Mr. Avery leaves, Simon goes over to drink his water before stating that it tasted terrible. He then collapses, having an allergic reaction to something which was in the water. The four don't believe it, till it begins to get bad.

- I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no (15).
- Addy is sent off by the other three to go to the nurse's office and get Simon an EpiPen. However, when she arrives, there are none there. Addy then has to inform the others of this, whilst Simon keeps getting worse and worse.
- Multiple teachers finally arrive on the scene, including Mr. Avery. Medical professionals get Simon onto a stretcher with the other four students out of the room in an attempt to save his life.
- After a bit of time, Cooper tells Addy that Simon isn't doing so well, which implies that Simon has passed away due to the allergic reaction. What the four didn't know is that Simon committed suicide, and was framing Bronwyn, Nate, Addy and Cooper for his death.
