Gilgamesh was a cruel king, leading the kingdom of Uruk. The Gods punished him by sending a twin, Enkidu. Both fought, and Gilgamesh won, Both became inseperable friends.
Only immortality will quench my hunger in life!
He set out on a journey to find immortality, after his "twin" died. He did not want that same fate to happen to him. He also wanted power over his kingdom for many years to come. He failed, after many trials and tasks. He came back to his city afterwards.

It changes his personality, leaving him to accept death later.
