  • Ashoka Feels the Impact he Caused
  • What have I done? **gasp**sobs**
  • Ashkoa was a cold hearted emperor and set out to expand his land by force. He was a cruel emperor and established evil rules imposing death for major crimes.
  • Ashoka is Introduced to Buddhism
  • After he expanded his kingdom all through India it was time to invade Kalinga, the last part of India to resist Ashoka's control. He led his army against Kalinga enslaved and killed many Kalingans,
  • Ashoka is a Happy Buddhist and Spreads the Budda Word
  • Spread the word!
  • After he had seen the destruction and devastation he has caused he felt remorseful. He has witnessed the defeated Kalingans being led into slavery and felt his impact.
  • Ashoka's Legacy Remains
  • Later after he saw a Buddhist monk meditating on the street and wondered how a man who had nothing was so happy. Soon after this event he was certain to have became a Buddhist monk later on and started a new non-violent reign as the Buddhist he was.
  • Hmmm Why is he so happy when he has so little? hmm
  • Ashoka later established new laws that followed Buddhist principles and built many temples and stupas as well. He inscribed rock and pillars with edicts and laws of Buddhist teachings. To add to it he even started to care for animals more and sent missionaries out to spread the Budda word.

  • I am too! I love Ashoka's new ways! It's a miracle!
  • Even after Ashoka died his legacy still stayed and it helped Buddhism spread to other regions as well. Without him and his legacy Buddhism may not have spread as widely as it is today.
  • Ashoka died many years ago....
  • Sadly yes, but thankfully because of him we are the happy Buddhists we are now.....
