  • A Latin tribe built the village that became Rome. The village was constructed on the Plataine a hill in central Italy that overlooks the Tiber river. The village that was once of thatched huts developed into a city that spread out over the seven hlls.
  • Etruscan Influence of Sports on the Romans
  • The myth of Romulus and Remus states that they were meant to be killed by their uncle that took over and said that they had to be dead. So The new king's best army people went and stole the twins and put them in the Tiber river and before they have killed a she-wolf picked them up and brote them back to her cave and raised them. Then they built the city and they got into a fight about what they should call it and Romulus killed his brother and it was named Rome after his brother was dead.

  • Romes became excellent builders because they learend many techniques about engineering because they copied the techniques from the etruscan. The romans adapted both the arches and the cuniculus from the etruscan. The roman's used the arches for the public work .

  • The romans adapted etruscan games and made them there own. The romans did slave fighting at a slaves own and they would kill the winner slaves so it was a lose lose. The romans did charit racing and a bunch of other types of games. The romans would take slaves and train them to be gladiators and have them fight in the games. The romans would make the gladitors fight animals and each other to win.
  • The romans used greeks desing in their own public buildings. The roman eventually found out how to use concert for even larger buildings. One of the most largest buildings in rome was the colosseumwhich could hold over more than 200,000 people or spectators.
  • The rome's used the greek alphabet but the wrote in all capitals. The romans took the greek gods and named them with romans names for gods and goddess. The roman used the greek way of using art and so did the etruscan. The Romans carved life sized statues. The statues looked as powerful the leader themselves. wealthy often collected greek art.
