Mesopotamia was in between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers
so there was plenty of water to go around
The northern part was hilly and rainey, and the southern part was flat and dry
it was very hard to live in mesopotamia
and without crops there was no food and without food there was nothing to eat
and with not enogh or to munch rain it was hard to grow crops
in Mesopotamia there was either to munch rain or not enogh
so two solutions that help were They built levees also farmers poked holes in the levees, allowing the water to flow through the holes and into the thirsty fields.
the rivers had a big inpact for mesopotamia and they sometimes caused problems so they biult a irrigation system
one problem was that there was uncontrolled water supply.
another big problem with the rivers was the mountains snow would drop into the water and overflow the rivers
farmers had to clean the canals or else they would get silt in them and a one dirty canal could ruin the whole system
framers could not do this alone so thats wear all the villages had to come together and thats when city-state were made
after a while city-states starting fighting over water and upstem citys would block the water from downstream
