Jesus Christ was born around 6 B.C.E. in the middle east region of the roman empire. The name Christ originated from the Greek word, christos, which means "anointed one".
The spread of Jesus' word
We are the 12 disciples! We will all spread the word of God to the people, and spread Christianity!
As Jesus grew up he began to question the world around him. He also had a relationship with God like no other. With this, he taught people to have a strong and loving relationship with God. He would gain followers, and these followers would be considered as Christians.
The turning point in Christianity
God is real! Love him!
Forgive those who have wronged you!
The Romans were worried that Jesus would be a threat to their power, and so they crucified Jesus. It was Pontius Pilate who ordered the execution of Jesus.
Christianity today
I'm Lutheran!
I'm Catholic!
Even though Jesus died, his teachings were still remembered by his Christians, including his 12 apostles (the 12 men who followed Jesus the closest), who would travel around the world and spread Jesus' teachings. People who followed Jesus' teachings would also be considered as disciples.
The turning point in Christianity would be the spread of Christianity in the world, especially Rome. What was ironic was that the Romans crucified Jesus in hopes that Christianity would fade, instead it did the opposite, by 600 A.C.E. most of Rome was part of the Christian religion with the help of the apostles.
Respect others!
CHRISTIANITY!
Love one another!
Christianity has spread throughout the whole world with the help of the 12 apostles, and has reached over billions of followers today, over 2.2 billion to be exact. People use the bible to keep track of Jesus' teachings and to remember his messages, and Christianity has different branches only showing how big the christian community is.
Christianity is broken into many different branches!
