- Tonight we are going to be painfully honest with each other for the first time. You've spent years trying to convince me that I was more special than anyone else. Hah! So special I could never hold a job for long. I actually think that causes you as much pain as it does me. Dad, I don't want you to have the burden of always feeling responsible for my success. I'm going to leave this house. Let's shake hands and leave each other in peace.
- You don't wanna be successful like me because you're still angry about what happened seventeen years ago in Boston. Instead of being a man, you're deciding to be a spiteful child. I know you're only holding yourself back to hurt me.
- When are you gonna get your life together? You had the most potential of everyone in this house. You were the most well liked, the most handsome, and now you're doing nothing with your life. Now that I can't fulfil my dreams, you're the only one who can. All my hopes lie with you.
- For goodness sake I'm your son. I wish you could see me for who I am...who I really am, instead of who you want me to be. I need to be outdoors. I need to work with my hands. I don't need to be cooped up in an office to fulfil your dreams, I need to work to fulfil my dreams and accept who I am.
- Biff, You're crying? That means you do care about me. It means you've forgiven me! You're no longer going to be spiteful and hold yourself back. You're going to be a magnificent business man. I knew it all along. You're the one who's going to make all our dreams come true.
- Dad, I think were both just ordinary men who needed to follow different paths. I'm finding my own peace and I want to make peace with you, and I hope you can make peace with yourself.
