- My life would change forever when I was 6 years old after my mom made the biggest decision of her life to leave India. This event is what built my values that I have in my life right now and it shaped me to be who I am right now.
- You wont understand until your older but we are going to leave home for a very important reason son.
- Okay whatever you say mom.

- Why is everyone so sad?
- I was unaware of the circumstances of the situation that I was in because I was so young. I know it was hard on my mom to leave everyone she knew but looking at it now I think she made the right decision. It takes a lot to leave everything you know and venture into the unknown.

- The airport was unlike something I had ever seen before. So many different people in their own world was very entertaining to see. To think I probably would never have seen something like this if it wasn't for my mom. This just further extended my gratitude toward the opportunity I was given and toward my mother.

- After landing we were silent because there was so much to take in. From new faces, stores, restaurants, and cultural characteristics we saw it all the moment we landed. All stuff that I am so familiar with now because of the life I got to live here.

- I was still too young to take it all in but seeing how different the world and people around me was almost overwhelming. Being two foreigners who speak little to no english and have no knowledge on how to live like an American it was a bombarding experience. The tall buildings and big screens everywhere were a big change from what I was used to seeing. Now I see those sights everyday and dont even think twice about it.
- Wow what are all these buildings used for. Ive never seen stuff like this in my life. What city am I in?

- Now to see the purpose of why I told this story. Its for the people who have been given so much in life but have missed out on the opportunity to be grateful for the things they have. Im telling it because its so important to me and it shaped who I became which has me forever grateful to my mom and this life. Its taught me to be appreciative of everyone and everything I have around me and I believe that is a valuable lesson to be taught to others.
