- As they were walking to their gate in the airport to escape to New York, Laura thought about her parents and if she really wanted to do this. Laura decided that Jehran could go to New York on her own. Laura told Jehran her change of mind. Jehran was shocked that Laura would leave her now. She begged Laura to come with her, but Laura still refused. Then, when Jehran said to Laura that she didn’t go through weeks of planning for nothing, Laura didn’t know what she meant. Then, she realized that something that would take weeks of planning was Billy’s death!
- At Jehran’s sleep, over Laura split from the group and saw people guarding a door. She was very curious about what was behind the door. She disregarded what she had just seen and left to rejoin the group.
- Laura was furious at Jehran, she accused her of Billy’s death. Jehran didn’t disagree, but she didn’t confess either. Laura took Jehran’s leather bag. Jehran said there was a bomb in the bag. Laura realized that there was no bomb in the bag like Jehran said. Laura kicked Jehran and she fell to the ground. People started to run and try to find exits, Jehran decided to run into the chaotic crowd. Airport security came and told Laura to not drop the bag. Laura knew that Jehran would not get away with murder, even though she got away for now.
- After she rejoined the group, she was talking with her friends when Jehran asked to talk to her. Laura was wondering what she wanted to talk about, but she was surprised when she asked for Billy’s passport. Laura was interested and continued to ask questions.
