  • here we have some of the structures the Romans have built and learned from the Etruscans.
  • As stated. once they learned how to use concrete they built large structures such as the Colosseum as you can see in the background.
  • The Romans became excellent builders and learned many techniques from the Etruscans. A few important structures they were taught were the arch and the cuniculus. Once they were fully adapted they became better engineers over time and even out-skilled the Etruscans.
  • Here is a plaque of Roman writing.
  • ΑΒΞΔΕΦΓΗΙJΚΛΜΝΟΠΘΡΣΤΥΩΩΧΨΖ
  • The Roman also adapted a few of Estrucan's sporting events. One of which is slave fighting. This sport had slaves fight to the death with swords and shields. Even if you win, after the battle you would be executed.
  • Roman sculptures became especially skilled in creating super realistic life like sculptures of people.
  • Greek Architecture was another important influence on the Romans. They saw that the Greeks constructed marble temples as homes for their gods. Romans used those Greek designs to enhance their own buildings. Later on, they learned how to use concrete to create bigger structures.
  • (People praying/worshiping to their reiligion/god)
  • The Greek alphabet was adopted and changed by the Etruscans. Then the Romans adopted the Etruscan alphabet and changed it a little. The Greek and Roman alphabet were still similar, such as they wrote in all capital letters and carved important information into plaques. Romans were also inspired by Greek poetry and myths. A Roman poet Virgil continued on one of the Greek's tales.
  • The Romans as well as the Etruscans admired Greek pottery, painting, and sculpture. Greek pottery was highly valued, and Roman artists imitated their pottery technique, but developed their own style. The Greek influence on Roman painting and sculpture was so great that they called it the "Greco-Roman art". As Romans power increased, much of Roman art celebrated great leaders and events.
  • Romans religion was a blend of different things. They followed Etruscans religious rituals, but was influenced by Greeks ideas about the gods. At first roman had their own ideas about rituals and gods but later changed as they encountered different cultures. They adapted many of the Greek gods but gave them roman names. Ex: Zeus-Jupiter, Aphrodite-Venus, and Aries-Mars.
