  • Scene 1: The Daughter
  • Scene 2: The Car Swap
  • Scene 3: Gas
  • Gatsby and Nick arrive at the Buchanans’ house. When they arrive, Tom is speaking to Wilson George on the phone in annoyance. When he’s done, he greets Gatsby with concealed dislike and walks out of the room again. Daisy’s daughter is then brought in by the house nurse, and Gatsby and Nick are reminded of the life she built with Tom. The nurse takes her daughter out of the room and Tom returns with drinks.
  • Scene 4: The Confrontation
  • As Daisy and Gatsby talk, Tom realizes that she loves him, so he rushes everyone out the door and to the city. He suggests they switch cars, and they do, except Daisy chooses to ride with Gatsby. In the car, Tom looks to Nick and Jordan for some clarity, but they play dumb.
  • Scene 5: Hit and Run
  •
  • Tom has to stop and get gas in Gatsby’s car, so Jordan suggests a garage- George Wilson’s garage. While they are there, Tom asks George if he wants to buy Gatsby’s car. He declines, but he says that Myrtle and him want to go West; however, Tom, Nick, and Jordan are questionable because of how unwell he looks. They start to leave after getting gas, and Nick sees Myrtle looking down from the window as if Jordan is Tom’s wife.
  • Scene 6: The Culprit
  • When they all arrive in the city, they take residence in the suite of a plaza hotel. They all converse for a little and there is a noticeable tension in the room. Soon enough, Tom has an outburst and confronts Gatsby for seeing his wife. Gatsby fires back and Tells Tom that Daisy never loved him. Daisy feels as if she's in the middle of things and wants to leave, but they just keep fighting and Tom begins to confront Gatsby about his business.
  • Fleeing the scene of the suite in his original car, Tom, along with Jordan and Nick, stop at the sight of commotion at the Wilsons. Myrtle is dead, for she had been hit after running into the middle of the road. People say the car was yellow, so Tom is quick to tell George that that wasn’t his car from earlier. They leave the garage, knowing it was Gatsby who hit Myrtle.
  • Tom drives Nick and Jordan home and Nick finds Gatsby hiding in the bush outside of the Buchanans’. He wants to make sure Daisy is okay throughout the night since Tom is upset, so he tells her to flicker her lights if she needs help. Nick talks to Gatsby and finds out that it was Daisy driving when they hit Myrtle, but Gatsby says he will be the one to take the blame. Nick peers inside and sees Tom and Daisy sharing a dinner, he tells Gatsby, and he heads home.
