I plan on attending a 4- year public university to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher. I have always had a deep desire of helping children and developing my own creative curriculum. My dream initially started in Templeton, when I missed how fun and creative Marcy was. I realized that I wanted to have an impact on the students like my old teachers had on me. I want to implement fun candy maps out of candy and allow my students to move their desk anywhere to give them some freedom. I am super excited to see where my future takes me, and I am ready for anything thrown my way!
I was always told to follow and chase my dreams, especially in Marcy Elementary. I vividly remember being absolutely determined that I was going to be an astronaut in kindergarten. We were sharing out our future plans and I blurt out I wanted to fly to the moon alongside other kids in the class. Marcy never told me no. Everyone was so supportive, no matter the gender or race, the teachers truly wanted every student to feel accepted and important. Now, I do not necessarily want to be an astronaut, although I do believe it would be cool. I learned that I can follow my dreams and desires no matter what! I can follow any of my callings, which in this case it is education, and I will thrive and accomplish great things while being a positive role model.
