  • Yes hurry and don't forget to park the car in the garage and gather your important documents.
  • WHAT WE NOTICED DURING THE HURRICANEThe rain just became more and more vigorous and heavy, A lot of people weren't prepared because of the calmness during the eye of the storm. The atmosphere is getting colder and colder and the winds are getting faster, stronger and more destructive. The roofs of many poorly constructed house were blown of.The water began flowing into low lying houses and destroying neighbourhoods. The power in the entire city was cut off. Trees were getting blown off from their roots. Firemen were putting ladders up to save people in high buildings People and animals were running all over the place, some even drowning in the flood waters.
  • We lost are both animals in the flood and everything in our home and car was destroyed.
  • According to meterologist, the Saffir Simpson Scale reads that this is indeed a catergory 4 hurricane and is being named Hurricane Jeanne. At least 3757 persons have already lost their lives in Haiti. We are also seeing immense flooding and pollution in the neighbouhoods. The country is in a S.O.E.Everyone please remain safe during this flight and keep updated with the news via social media or any other outlet.
  • After crawling through the debris, branches of fallen trees and broken glass we finally made our way to visit a hurricane shelter and interviewed a family and a disabled man.
  • My neighbourhood was completely destroyed. The only thing I managed to save was my wheelchair.
  • This stupid storm destroyed about 90% of my banana, nutmeg and coffee crops and who knows how many more. Now how am I going to make a living. This is all I got
  • LEVEL OF DESTRUCTION SEENThere was a food shortage across the entire countryPower lines had fallen down, utility services disrupted for days and businesses had to close down, resulting in a loss of income. Most planters lost a lot of their livestock and most of their cropsMany houses were damaged and some even completely destroyed Many people injured from the flying roofs and other dangerous materials. Some even loosing their lives in the flood. The drainage system were overwhelmed with the high pressure of water gushing through.
  • Unfortunately for the rest of the week the power went so we couldn't record but we hoped you observed enough and now know the signs and learnt ways to prepare yourselves and your homes
  • We hope you all enjoyed and learnt something from our trip. See you next time on the Thriller Seekers.
