- This cell shows what the lion and its environment looked before the disastrous event happened.The Lion shares a common ancestor with the Tiger and Bear.This is called Divergent, where two different species come from the same ancestor.This is very similar to Convergent where the same species come from different ancestors.
- This cell shows how my Lion had to evolve and adapt to suit the environment.According to Darwin's Theory of Evolution, when a organism evolves, it is so the organism can be better equipped to reproduce and stay alive in its new changed environment.Evolution is when a species changes over a long period of time.
- This shows how the lions are beginning to darken their fur to blend in with their environment.This process is called Natural Selection, where organisms begin to adapt to their environment to survive and produce more offspring.
- This shows Survival of the Fittest, which means which ever species is more adapted can survive and reproduce.My lion has made the adaptation of darkening his fur to complete black, to blend in with his surroundings.
- This cell also shows survival of the fitness, where the lions are killing tigers that aren't adapted enough to survive.The habitat my lion lives in doesn't have any biodiversity, which means the variety of life in a given area or habitat.
- This cell shows the lion species fully evolved with black fur to blend in, good eyesight to know if he is being stalked by a enemy, and horns as a extra from of attack.The reason the lions adapted like this was because of their geographic isolation, which is when a species is isolated from other species on a different continent.
- Many animals were blending with environment so the lions adapted to have better eyesight to see the enemies that are sneaking up on them.They got black fur so they could blend in with the environment.They grew horns so they can stab the animals with tough skin and kill them easily.
- A Lion's leg bone is similar to that of a human's arm bone.Both species' hand bones are similar in shape, these are called Homologous Structures.
- Just like a Homologous structure, an Analogous structure is a different structure with a similar function.For example a human mouth and a spider mouth are very different in bone structure and shape, but they are both still used for eating.
