- As much as life was going smoothly, I had not yet told my parents about the relationship I had with Jardin. We wanted to keep it a secret but since our families are close and we're always together, they would find out one way or the other. It was really scary telling them but it was totally worth it.

- A few months past and I slowly started feeling better. My parents had sat me down and told me there is an opportunity for them to move to the US and asked me if I wanted to go with them. I was bit hesitant at first but then I remembered it was a chance for a new start with new people.
- So, we got an opportunity to move to the US. Would you like to come with us?
- I really think it will be good for you to go.
- It took some time for us to be ready for the big move but we finally made it. I knew then that I needed to let go of my life in Kenya and start from square one. To new beginnings!
