Storyboard Tekst

  • Hi Lei! Can I ask you a favor?
  • I am assigned to report to the class the different aspects of society and their significant changes. Can you help me finish my report, coź I remember you already tackled this lesson in your class? Am I correct?
  • Yes, I remember that lesson. Sure! I will help you finish it.
  • Oh sure Rio! What is it?
  • Lastly, the environment, as human populations move into more vulnerable areas, we see an increase in the number of people affected by natural disasters, and we see that human interaction with the environment increases the impact of those disasters.
  • So basically, there are five basic components of human societies; population, culture, material products, social organization, and social institutions. These components may either discourage or promote social change.
  • Okay, but I think we should focus more on what causes social change. What do you think?
  • No problem, so for now, we're going to focus on the numerous causes of social change. First, technology, from the way we educate children in the classroom to the way we grow the food we eat, technology has impacted all aspects of modern life.
  • Second, each change in a single social institution leads to changes in all social institutions. A shift in one area, such as industrialization, means an interconnected impact across social institutions.
  • You're correct! Population composition is changing at every level of society. Births increase in one nation and decrease in another. Population changes can be due to random external forces, like an epidemic, or shifts in other social institutions.
  • Let me guess, Population is also an important part.
  • Part of this is simply the numbers: the more people there are on the planet, the more likely it is that some will be affected by a natural disaster. That's all, I hope these information will help you finish your work.
  • That's great! Additionally, modernization is a typical result of social change. Modernization refers to the process of increased differentiation and specialization within a society, particularly around its industry and infrastructure.
  • Yes, it will help me a lot. Now I understand that technology, social institutions, population, and the environment is what causes social change. And that they are all interrelated: a change in one area can lead to changes throughout.
