  • Both in the real and in the imaginary world, man has always sought away to have results in the shortest possible time with the leasteffort, going against the laws of nature. As the scientistFrankestain wanted to create a human being going against the laws ofnature, in sport, a means used increasingly frequently to improve thephysical performance of athletes with little effort is doping.
  • The origin of the term Doping is difficult. According to somescientists, the term comes from the Flemish doop , whichmeans mixture, according to other authors its origin comes from theSouth African language in which the term dope isassociated with an alcoholic drink used as a stimulant in dances andin ritual. In English the term dope identifies a dense, liquid, lubricant substance that alters reality. The term Doping spread in the early 1900s in racetracks where illegal stimulation wasused on animals during races. The term was then extended also in thehuman field and precisely the Doping in sports would be equivalent to use of illicit substances . It consists in theuse of illegal means or substances prohibited by the sportsauthorities, because they improve performance artificially, reducingfatigue and increasing strength and endurance. Doping, therefore,is the main responsible for the loss of the competitive spirit, whichshould respect those values that push an athlete to confront himselfand others.Just as thescientist Victor, by his power of greatness, went beyond the laws ofnature creating a monster . He did not respect the circleof life with which a human being is born from the encounter of twopeople, grows and dies and his creation was a failure.
  • Victory in a competition becomes a tool that defies time, producesglory and celebrities. Already in the time of the Greeks the winnerswere considered true heroes, they had cash rewards and gifts. In Roman timesanimals and slaves were considered on the same level and in shows theimportant thing was fun.In chariot racing, horses were drugged to make the competition more exciting, andwrestlers in the arena were doped to increase aggression. With the advent ofthe Christian era and the rediscovery of mysticism there is a loss ofsportsmanship in general.Throughout theRenaissance court games and tournaments were the only sports spaces At the time of theindustrial society, the distinction between time for work and leisureman began to devote himself to sport and was born first amateur sportwith various competitions and then passed to professional sport.Today the sport ispracticed by many people around the world and competitions are morefrequent and many people to increase their performance have startedto use doping substances. In addition, the sports associations, following good results of their athletes have a good economicresponse and have often encouraged their athletes to abuse non-legalsubstances.The problem of doping is not easy to solve, but healthofficials at the UN have drawn up a medical code with aclassification that is updated annually. In 1999 the World Conferenceon doping issued the "Declaration of Lausanne" whichguarantees a collaboration between different institutions such as theEuropean Community, National Associations, Sports Federations and theGovernments themselves. It also provides forchecks on athletes and sanctions for those who are not loyal.Just as Frankestain, after creating a monster and offending him, was punished with thedeath of his family and friends.
