- Since James I did not enact reforms to purify the English church of Catholic practices, he refused to make Puritan reforms which led the Puritans to make laws that promoted Puritan Morality. By December 1645, more parts of England was controlled by the Puritans.
- Prince Charles entered London in 1660 and restored his monarchy which was known as the period of restoration. People were very happy to have Prince Charles as their king. A new law formed that every prisoner had the right to obtain document ordering that the prisoner be brought before a judge to specify the charges against the prisoner. This law was called the habeas corpus.
- After Charles II died, James II became the king. He offended his subjects by showing his Catholicsm and forcing them to become Catholics. Charles' daughter's husband, William who was the prince of Netherlands, led his army to London in 1688 for the sake of Protestantism. Charles II quickly fled to France. This over-throw was called the Glorious Revolution.
