Storyboard Tekst

  • Exposition
  • Yes
  • Tired Darling?
  • Conflict
  • There it is. I know it's a tough time but I'll give you money and see you're taken care of
  • What is it darling? Whats the matter?
  • Rising Action
  • I told you i'm not hungry, I'm going out!
  • In the exposition of the story, we are introduced to the main character, Mary Maloney, and her husband Patrick. Mary was pregnant and it was her sixth month expecting a child the story takes place in their home where they are sitting in the living room drinking. Patrick however is acting strange. The exposition has situational irony, as the wife Mary is waiting for her husband we expect them to have a loving relationship.
  • Conflict
  • The conflict of the story is when Patrick brings up the news that he is going to leave Mary. He knows it's a bad time considering she is pregnant but he says he is going to lend her money and make sure she is taken care of. This event is of verbal irony as what the husband says is unexpected.
  • Falling Action
  • Mary insists that what her husband said isn't true so she heads downstairs to grab something to cook for supper. The first thing she pulls out of the freezer is the leg of lamb. She carries the leg of lamb upstairs and sees her husband at the window. This scenario creates foreshadowing as Mary Maloney takes the leg of a lamb out of the freezer. Readers can make predictions as to what she will do with the leg of lamb.
  • Resolution
  • The climax of the story is when Mary kills her husband. She fatally smacks him on the back of the head with the frozen leg of lamb. He lays flat on the ground. Afterward, she puts the lamb into the oven.
  • So I've killed him...
  • The falling action, Mary pretends she didn't kill her husband so she doesn't get caught. She calls the police and tells them that she found her husband dead and they come to investigate. They do not think mary is a suspect and they search the house for a weapon, none was found.
  • In the resolution, Mary insists that the police stayed for dinner. She cooked the leg of lamb and lets the police eat the leg of lamb. She does this so then they would not suspect anything. As they eat the leg of lamb in the kitchen, Mary maniacally laughs. The resolution shows dramatic irony because the murderer, Mary Maloney, is asking the police to eat the murder weapon, which is the evidence of her offense.
  • HAHAHA!!!
  • The weapon is probably right under our noses
