Storyboard Tekst

  • Cross pollination is different from self-pollination. Unlike self-pollination, cross pollination is the process of sexual reproduction where a pollinator (animal) or the wind carry pollen from one plant to fertilize another plant.
  • Plants reproduce Sexually. (They can also reproduce asexually through natural and artificial processes.
  • Plants reproduce sexually through a process called pollination. There are two different types of pollination: self-pollination and cross pollination.
  • Once a plant has gone through pollination, the pollen will fertilize the plant's egg (ovule).
  • Self pollination is when a plant uses its own pollen to fertilize its ovule. An ovule is the part of a plant that contains female reproductive cells.
  • Pollinators include insects like bees, moths, and butterflies, which all move pollen from plant to plant.
  • Fertilization results in seeds, whether on plants or in fruits. Overtime, animals eat the fruits and their waste will go to the soil, containing seeds for regrowth. Wind, decay, or other forces allow seeds from plants to drop on the ground and be grown.
