- The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot on March 5, 1770 on King Street in Boston. It began as a street brawl between American Colonists and a lone British soldier, it quickly escalated to a chaotic, bloody slaughter.
- -The Loyalists believed that independence would mean the loss of economic benefits derived from membership in the British mercantile system.-The Patriots wanted to be free from Great Britain because they felt separate from the Loyalists. They were being taxed unfairly. So then they created The Declaration of Independence.
- The Declaration of Independence is the founding document of the United States. It was adopted on July 4, 1776.
