- Filibusters are people who fight in unofficial wars. One filibuster, Jose Bernardo Gutierrez de Lara was a filibuster who started the Republican Army of the North.
- The Battle of Medina was a war between The Republican Army of the North and the Spanish. The U.S. was planning to free Texas from the Spanish but took over Goliad and Nacogdoches instead. The Spanish won the war almost a year after Augustus Magee died.
- After Mexico won the war to gain independence it needed a new government. They planned to share the power, but instead, Iturbide took all of the power for himself. After he lost power the people got together to write the Constitution of 1824.
