In May 1789, King Louis called the Estates General to have a meeting on what to do. The 3rd Estate asked to rather than having one vote per estate, each delegate would get one vote but the king rejected this proposal.
Rioting
Because the king rejected their proposal the 3rd Estate was fed up, so the 3rd Estate left the Estates General and formed their own new government, called the National Assembly.
Escape
welcome toFrance
The King was starting to get worried about what the National Assembly was doing so he locked them out of their meeting place. They ended up going to a tennis court where they took an oath to do whatever it took to have equality in France.
Kidnapping
Attack
The king called French troops to stop the rioting but rumours spread about the king doing this. The rioting spread to the country side, raiders were getting out of control and raiders raided a Bastille, and freed seven prisoners.
Because of all the panic in France, wealthy people, like nobles gathered all their wealth and fled the country and camped out in neighbouring countries until the craziness was over.
leave the country
Hundreds of women were starving because of food shortages. They went to the king's castle and kidnaped the King and Queen and took them to one of their homes in France so he would really deal with the problem about the food shortages. They had guards making sure they didn't leave, but one night they escaped and almost made it to another country but were caught and taken back.
