  • Here we have William Hobson arriving at the bay of islands, New Zealand. He arrived there on the 29th of January 1840.
  • Busby and Hobson wrote up the treaty. The treaty was written a few days before the treaty was signed. Later Henry Williams and his son Edward translated it into Maori.
  • This is on the 5th of February when a large group of people met on the lawn of James busby's. the people included in the meeting were pakeha settlers and people who lived in the bay of islands
  • in this scene we have hone Heke being the first to sign the treaty on the 6th of February. on this day many other Maori chiefs signed the treaty
  • In this picture we have the British officials and missionaries traveling around the country to gather signatures
  • this is on September the 3rd 1840 when they got all the last signatures
