- “Initial Dosage: 0.5mg. Adam Petrazelli, 16 years old is a subject of the clinical trial for ToZaPrex. He is reluctant to engage during therapy sessions. Nonverbal communication only. Not uncommon, given his reluctance to participate in the therapy aspect of the drug trial” (Walton 8).

- During Adam Petrazelli’s junior year of high school, Adam writes journal entries to his assigned therapist as a part of his clinical drug trial for ToZaPrex to treat his schizophrenia.

- On a tour given by the school bully, Ian, Adam meets his future girlfriend Maya on his first day at a new school.
- “I was illuminated on the screens, vomiting onto a urinal, slamming my hands against the sink, screaming ‘GET OUT’ at the third grader, my eyes unfocused and my hands shaking. Someone had recorded the whole thing” (Walton 174).
- In March, Adam learns his body shows signs of resisting the ToZaPrex. For his safety, he will be taken off the drug and out of the research study. This leads to Adam breaking down in the bathroom and Ian secretly filming him.
