  • FIESTA IN OUR TOWN
  • I've heard you're going home to your hometown to celebrate the Fiesta.
  • That must be great. by the way, since we're on the topic, what can you say regarding Festival celebration? What is your opinion about it?
  • Oh, yeah. Since we're done with our exams, I decided. I wanna go home and spend my vacation with my family. I'm going back home there this coming week actually. I also do not want to miss the joyful celebration of Senior Sto. Nino's fiesta. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.
  • FIESTA IN OUR TOWN
  • I believe Festival/fiesta is one of the most exciting and joyful celebration here in the Philippines. It is part of our culture and tradition for it is a celebration to express our gratitude for all the blessings we received and good harvest in honor of the town's patron saint. It is also a good opportunity for our local farmers and town's people to exhibit what products we have in our town and we could celebrate and introduce the culture and arts of the town to the people who come to witness the celebration of the Festival. It is a living tradition here in the Philippines that has to be nurtured and has been pass down to generations. It is not just a simple occasion we celebrate but a tradition that has helped us in shaping our identity as Filipinos.
  • FIESTA IN OUR TOWN
  • I suppose I just naturally accept it because just like what I've said a while ago, it's part of our culture and eventually past down to our generation and i don't see anything wrong about it. In addition, fiestas are joyful and fun. it's really nice to see people having fun and enjoying our culture.
  • I agree with you Kylie. Here in Manila there are various of fiesta celebrations too. but I am curious of how you find this fiesta tradition and how do you accept it?
  • why don't you come with me? I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it and it's our vacation anyway.
  • Kylie invited her friend to go with her to her hometown to see the fiesta celebration. after a few days the fiesta had come.
  • Just like how every special occasion, the celebration always begins with a Mass. They attended the mass and watched the parade after. kylie's friend eren was really enjoying the parade and she noticed how beautiful the costumes of the performers are. there were filipinianas by one of the groups of performers which is obviously going to dane a folk dance, the clothes of the band were really elegant too, as of they were performing for the Royals and they also looks like a royal guards, and there were also a group of dancers where girls are wearing a long, colorful, flowing dresses and some are wearing ethnic shirts and skirts. Looking at the parade with all the street performers all together, it looks colorful, lively and joyful.
  • kylie show Eren around the whole town's celebration...
  • Oh! look, they are participating in the palo sebo game, that must be hard that they have to climb up the top when the pole is super greasy because of the oil they put on it. it looks so high as well. I wonder what is the height of that bamboo pole.
  • the boys are standing 10 meters away from the pole with 30 degrees angle of elevation. that's quite high though.
  • After watching the traditional game palo sebo they went to the town plaza to go watch other plays/operas to be performed by the participants.
  • during fiesta, you could watch a lot of performances or plays/operas. There is a Folk dance, Traditional dance, singing contest and a lot more other performances. oh' look here are the singers and the next performer.
  • after this, let's go to perya , I want to ride in a Ferris wheel.
