- It was eleven o'clock and a boy snuck up behind a lady whose purse look like it carried everything but a hammer and nails. He grabbed the purse.
- But suddenly the purse strap broke. The boy lost his balance and dropped the purse, and the lady grabbed him by the collar.
- Was I bothering you when you turned the corner.
- But you put yourself in contact with me.
- So if you think I'm just going to let you go, you have another think coming. You are going to come home with me, and I'm going to wash your face.
- Let me go!
- No'm
- The woman dragged him down the street and finally stopped in front of a door. She opened it, shoved him in, and walked in after him.
- She brought him to a room at the back of the house and told him to wash his face which he did. He sat as far away from the purse as he could. Then she went to get food.
- I wanted a pair of blue suede shoes.
- Boy, why did you try to snatch my purse?
- Well, you didn't have to snatch my purse to get some bluesuede shoes. You could have asked me.
- What is your name, boy?
- She gave him some bread, beans, and ham. She talked to him about her work and things that would not embarrass him.

- The lady gave the boy $10 to go buy himself some blue suede shoes. The boy left and walked down the street.
