- Muhammad was born in Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 570 AD to his mother Amina and his father Abudullah. His father died before he was born and he was orphaned when his mother died when he was 6. He was raised by his grandfather, then his aunt and uncle.
- The Hijrah
- Muhammad was a so truthful that his community called him Al-Amin which means the trusted one. He was hired by a wealthy widow named Khadija and conducted trade for her. He was so great in his trading and so honest, Khadija fell in love with him and married him.
- The Three Battles
- The traditional story of the Qur'an tells how one night in 610 he was meditating in a cave on the mountain when he was visited by the angel Jibreel who ordered him to recite words God had sent him to preach
- The Capture of Mecca
- Muhammad's new religion was popular, and the leaders of the Quraysh tried to kill him. Muhammad left Mecca in 622 with his followers to Yathrib, which in now called Madinah.
- Prophet Muhammad fought 3 battles, The battle of Badr, The battle of Uhud, and the Battle of the Trench. He signed the treaty of Hudaybiyah which allowed peace for 2 years.
- Within ten years Muhammad had gained so many followers that he was able to return and conquer Mecca. Muhammad continued to lead his community in spiritually and in political matters until his death in 632.
