- One day George was telling slim a story about how he used to take advantage of Lennie for fun since he always did what he said, but then he told Lennie to jump in the Sacramento River when they were hanging around these guys because he thought it made him look smarter, but when he did George jumped in to save him because Lennie couldn't swim.

- George told slim the story of what Lennie did Back at the "In Weed" Lennie saw a girl in a pretty red dress, so he grabbed it. And since everyone was freaking out about it he got scared because everybody was yelling at him to let go but he held on more since he didn't know what to do. And The girl was really scared of him because he wouldn't let go. But he finally let go when George Hit him on the head
- I like your dress.
- What's wrong with this man
- OMG, LET GO OF ME!!
- Damn it, Lennie Let Go of her!
- One day when George and Lennie were just having small conversations with eachother, George told Lennie that he dreams of them gettin' their own place.
- Y'know Lennie, right now, I dream that we get our own place some day
- Aw me too, cause then we could get a puppy!
- Slim agreed to give one of the puppies to Lennie, and George thanked him for his kindness, insisting that Lennie is “dumb as hell,” but is neither crazy or mean.
- He's brown an' white jus' like I wanted George, thank you Slim!
- How do ya like the pup now?
- No problem kid.
