Jonah and the Whale

- One day, God told Jonah, son of Amittai:
- Jonah
- Get up and go to Nineveh. Announce my judgement against them, for their people are wicked.
- God
- Instead of listening to God, Jonah got on a ship to leave to Tarshish. Little did he know, God had sent a powerful wind over the sea.
- A powerful storm swept through the sea. The sailors asked their gods for help, while Jonah was sound asleep in the hold.
- Get up and pray to your God so he can help us!
- As the sailors cried out to their gods. the captain yelled at Jonah,
- When Jonah got on the deck, the sailors asked him:
- What is your nationality? Who is your God?
- The sailors were terrified when Jonah said this, as he had told them he was running from the Lord
- I am Hebrew. I worship the Lord, creator of the land and sea
