- GUESS WHAT!! I can help you with your problem.
- I have no idea how cars even work and I drive one.
- So first, cars use Newton's Third Law, which means that when the cars tires move, the whole car moves with them.
- Oooooo. That makes so much sense.
- But wait there's more. The next law that cars use is Newton's Second Law. Semi-trucks have way more mass than a normal everyday car. This means that it takes longer for a Semi-truck to accelerate than it takes for a car too.
- Wait what is mass?
- Mass is the amount of matter in an object. And matter is anything that takes up space and has weight.
- Ohhhhhh.... Thank you for telling me all of this information. I really appreciate it.
- Wow wow wow not too fast buddy. There's still one more law which is Newton's First Law aka The Law of Inertia. Let's say that you are driving and get in an accident; your seatbelt is the only thing stopping you from flying through your windshield. It's like your seatbelt acts as an unbalanced force. Oh wait, it does.
- Ok so I get the first law thing but what I don't get is the unbalanced force thing.
- Alright so an unbalanced force is any type of force that travels in one direction that is greater than another type of force traveling in the opposite direction.
- Ohhhhh... Ok that makes a lot more sense and now I can actually say that I know how cars scientifically work. Thank you so much for helping me!
