Izanami and Izanagi

- At the beginning, the world is only dominated by chaos. After a long time, A small plant was born and produced the supreme trinity. The deities made children and the two of those are Izanagi and Izanami.
- The divine pair was commanded to to build a home. Izanagi was given the spear of heaven and did a marriage ceremony. Izanami gave birth to Japan's islands and their gods, including the gods of the sea, river, mountain, field, tree, stone, fire, and many others.
- Upon giving birth to Kagutsuchi, the god of fire, Izanami was burned despite of her husband saving her. As she died, her body gave birth to more kami. Death and sorrow had also made their way into the world.
- Because of grief and sadness, Izanagi decided to go to the land of the dead and search for his wife. Izanami hided and told her husband to wait. However, Izanagi got impatient.
- Because of eagerness, Izanagi saw his wife, Izanami, as a decomposing corpse. Izanagi got scared and ran towards the exit immediately while Izanami was chasing him. Izanagi blocked the entranced with a large boulder when he got out. That was the last contact of the former couple.
- In order to get rid of the unpleasant smell, Izanagi bathed himself on the river and produced the three beautiful yokais; Amaterasu Omikami (Goddess of the Sun) was born from his left eye after he washed it; Tsukushi no Mikoto (God of the Moon) was born from his right eye, and Susanoo no Mikoto (God of Storms) was born from his nose.
