  • It is just a regular day in the office... Patricia is doing her usual work when she remembers that she would love to have more input on the newly implemented system in the Agency, mostly used by the Finance team, that she has been wanting to learn and explore for a while now... Since she knows the Agency already has a shadowing progamme she will discuss this further in her bilat with her manager.
  • After Patricia and her manager discussed the shadowing informally, Patricia reads the job shadowing guidance where she finds all the steps to follow to apply for the programme and the Outlook template for the shadowing form. Next step for Patricia is to send the template through email to her manager for a formal confirmation.

  • The request is now approved by her manager and Patricia needs to request her Declaration of Interest (DoI) from HR Rules, Procedures and Partnerships office. Once this is done, she is ready to send an email with the shadowing request and DoI to the line manager of the finance team that she wants to shadow.
