Because Prometheus stole the fire, Zeus had to greatly punish him. With his terrible choice of actions, his punishment spread along to his brother.
The Lord of Olympus said that Prometheus didn't get enough of a punishment. Because of this, his bad choice of actions spread to his brother, Epimetheus.
So, the punishment that Epimetheus was going to face, wouldn't seem so bad. Zeus asked the Four Winds and Hephaestus to make a woman out of the materials of Earth.

Since Pandora had the great gift of curiosity, Epimetheus told her to hide the box from sight, and to hide it from memory as well. So, they hid the box under the bed. They lasted for quite some time before it hit her.
Since this was a punishment, they gave the woman the gift of curiosity and a box. Then, they named her Pandora and sent her off to marry Epimetheus.
Since they were going to get married, and Epimetheus new something strange was going on, he told Pandora not to trust any thing given to you by the Gods. But, because of her curiosity it wasn't going to last long.
Since her curiosity couldn't hold the excitement, she had to open it. In a swift, so that Epimetheus couldn't hear what was happening, she quickly opened it. And to surprise, evil things rushed out. She should've lisetened.
Because Epimetheus heard the scream of terror, he rushed to see what had happened. The moment he realized what had been done, he took the blame. But little did they know, there was one last creature inside the box, Hope. It would be there for them; it will protect them at all costs.
