- Abram was 99 years old, when one night, God appeared to him.
- The Lord told Abram to be faithful in him and in return God would bless him with many children.
- After hearing this Abram fell face-down.
- God told Abram that as long as he have faith in God he will be the father of many nations.
- Then God said, "Your name shall no longer be Abram; but Abraham."
- God then told Abraham he would be 'very fruitful' and that nations and kings would come from him.
- God said that this promise to Abraham would be passed down to all his children in all the land that they would live in.
