- France captures an American ship that's trading with Great Britain because France thought America didn't "stay neutral" in the French Revolution like they said they would.
- Three smart delegates went to negotiate with France about ships being stolen, but France demanded a bribe to even get into the room to talk. America said that they would rather fight France in war than spend millions of dollars just to talk.
