  • Growing Up
  • Give me back my brother!!!!
  • A princess named Rhea Silvia gave birth to twins named Romulus and Remus. Their father was the fierce Roman god of war, Mars. The king where the boys lived was frightened that someday Romulus and Remus would overcome him and steal his throne. So he had the boys flee in a basket on the Tiber River. He estimated they would soon die.
  • Founding a New City
  • This hill would be better
  • No! This hill would be better
  • The boys were spotted and raised by a she-wolf. The wolf cared about them but also protected them from the other wild animals. A friendly woodpecker helped them find some food. Some shepherds eventually saw them, so one of them took the boys and raised them as his children.
  • Remus is Killed
  • I am done with you!!!!
  • Brother please don't that is a bad idea!!!
  • As the boys aged older, they became natural leaders. One day Remus was caught and brought to the king. He learned his genuine identity. Romulus assembled some shepherds to save his brother. They ended up destroying the king. When the city knew who the boys were, they offered to fulfil them as shared kings. They could be rulers of their country. Nevertheless, they turned down the crowns because they wanted to explore their city. The twins moved and set out to find the precise spot for their city.
  • Rome is founded
  • Here is what I call Rome
  • The twins ultimately came to the spot where Rome is positioned today. They both liked the common area, but each wanted to place the city on another hill. Romulus wanted the town to be on top of Palatine Hill, while Remus favoured Aventine Hill. They were allowed to wait for a sign from the gods, declared a prophecy, to decide which hill to use. Remus observed the indication of six vultures first, but Romulus noticed twelve. Each deserved to have won.
  • Romulus moved ahead and began creating a wall around Palantine Hill. But, Remus was sceptical and began to make fun of Romulus's wall. At one point, Remus jumped over the fence to show how easy it was to cross. Romulus became angry and killed Remus.
  • With Remus dead, Romulus proceeded to work on his city. He authoritatively founded the town on April 21, 753 BC, declaring himself king, and identifying it as Rome. From there, he began to establish the city. He arranged his soldiers into groups of 3,300 men. He summoned his 100 most noblemen, the Patricians and the elders of Rome, the Senate. The city developed and advanced. For beyond 1,000 years, Rome would remain one of the various influential cities on the earth.
