- In this scene, George is explaining his relationship with Lennie to Slim.George is also explaining how Lennie acts and the way he treats him.
- " Lennie will do anything I tell him to do. If I told him to walk over a cliff, over he'd go. It wasn't no more fun after a while. Lennie never got mad about it either. I would beat the mess out of him, but he would bust every bone in my body just with his hands."
- "He's a nice fella. Guy don't need no sense to be a nice fella. Seems to me it just works the other way around.Take a real samrt guy and he ain't harldy ever a nice fella."
- "God almighty that dog stinks.Get Him outta here Candy. I can't stand that dog here.If you want me to I will put the devil out of his misery right now and get it over with."
- In this scene Calrson has a urge to kill Candy's dog. Carlson belives that Candy's dog has no purpose anymore and asks Candy for permission to kill the dog.
- " I been around him so much I never notice how he stinks. But alright- take him."
- "Any you guys seen my wife? Where is Slim? How long he been gone? What you laughing at?"
- In this scene, Curley is searching for his wife. Curley believes that his wife is with Slim so he is questioning everyone.
- "Went out in the barn.He was going to put some tar on a split roof."
- "She ain't been here.Slim left 5-10 minutes ago."
- "Huh?"
- In this scene Curley is angry and starts to fight Lennie. George is trying to get Lennie to fight back.
- "Get him,Lennie.Don't let him do it."
- "Come on you big bastard. Nobody is gonna laugh at me! I'll show ya who's yella."
- "Make um leave me alone George."
- In this scene Lennie fights back. Lennie is so strong that he is breaking Curley's hand.
- "Leggo of him Lennie.Let go. Slim help me get Lennie off of him."
- Ahhhhh!!
- "We'll take him to Soledad an get him fixed up."
- In this scene Lennie is apologizing to George for what he did to Curley.
- "You told me to George. I didn't want to hurt him."
- Ahhhh!
