- I was born on Jan, 31st 1919 in Cairo,Georgia. My dad left my family when I was 1 and I haven't seen him sense.
- My family moved to California when I was three. And when I got there I knew I wanted to be a baseball player, And a Football player.
- I was and am a super hard worker because everyone put me down even my teammates and the fans. I was kind because whenever somebody didn't cheer me on or boo me that were on my team or the fans I never did anything back at them.
- I was in the MLB and all of my fans booed me and all the players wanted me to play the hardest positions.
- One of my challenges was nobody liked me and didn't want to play with me and I had to play every single millisecond of the game each time.
- I went to UCLA and I was the best quarterback at the university and we went undefeated. In collage I won the broad jump. And we also won the NCAA playoffs. Mr. Rickey came up to me and said I could play for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
- One of my famous quotes was when Mr. Rickey from the Brooklyn Dodgers came up to me and I said, "Mr. Rickey are you looking for a negro who is afraid to fight back."
