- When Ms. Bozo introduced Twyla and Roberta to one another.
- “Twyla, this is Roberta. Roberta, this is Make each other welcome.”
- “My mother won’t like you putting me in here.”
- Twyla and Roberta watched as Maggie (the kitchen help) fell and the big girls laughed at her. They felt bad for not helping her up.
- Hahahahaha!!
- Both girls were excited for their mothers to meet one another thinking that that could help each other out. The meet doesn’t go as planned because of Roberta’s judgemental mother.
- “Twyla baby!!”
- After leaving the orphanage both girls went on two different paths and did not see each other until Roberta came to the diner Twyla worked at. The atmosphere was weird because Roberta was acting shady towards Twyla.
- “How’s your mother?”. . . “Pretty as a picture.”
- “Fine, how’s yours?”
- “Got a minute? Let’s have a coffee.”
- The next time the women saw each other was in the grocery store. This interaction was better because the women were mature and made plans to keep in touch.
- Thinks about it before agreeing to join Roberta.
- The two women laughed and giggled while catching up on the latest that had happened in there lives.
- While out driving one day, Twyla saw Roberta picketing for the government to not switch up the school system, so her children could stay where they were.
- MOTHER’S HAVE RIGHTS TOO!!!
- LET THEM STAY!!!!
- “Thanks Roberta
- “You were right. We didn’t kick her. It was the gar girls. Only them.”
- Roberta saw Twyla sitting in a diner and went to apologize for lying about certain times from their past. They promised to keep in touch with one another; something they did not fulfill.
