- Osborn, Trotter and Stanhope sitts down to have dinner. Mason enters with a soap he has prepared for the officers. Osborn is asking for the pepper since pepper is seen as a disinfectant. Stanhope looses his temper and threatens Mason. Stanhope says Mason is a lucky man to be a cook for the officers, but if Mason forgets anything ever again Stanhope is going to put Mason together with the other men.
