- Once upon a time, there was a young girl who was told that she couldn't do anything other than marry into a good family.
- Once she grew up, she helped manage her parents shop. One of the more interesting customers in a cloak asked for her parents to ask them something.
- The man was denied service at their bakery and her father got really angry when the man still asked for food.
- The traveler didn't like how the old man was talking to his daughter, and then saw evidence that he was abusing her. The traveler turned out to be a wizard and tried to curse the old man.
- The curse bounced off a protection shield that the mother had, though, and hit Opal instead. She was turned into an orc and as her parents laughed at her, the traveler took her away to correct his mistake.
- They ran away until they reached a creek, where the traveler revealed himself as a powerful mage, and offered to take Opal on as a pupil. She agreed, hopeful to find a way to change herself back since the man did not have one.
