- The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a protest for civil rights that was started by African Americans and was an act of refusing to ride city buses in Montogmery

- Little Rock Nine was made up of a group of 9 African American students enrolled in Little Rock Central High School that cause the Little Rock Crisis where the students were initially prevented from being allowed in the segregated school.
