- In chapter 10 Bud say lots of cars pass by him and this man stop and Bud jumped in a bush and the man helped him by giving him food and trying to take him back home, but when bud saw a box that said contains blood so he thought that he was a vampire.
- In chapter 11 Bud tells Mr. Lewis a lie because he tells him that he ran away from Grand Rapids. He said that because he thinks that he is too of a good person to leave him on the streets. He also said that because he didn't want to walk all the way there so he wanted him to take him there.
- In chapter 12 Mr. Lewis takes Bud to where his dad is at Bud asks to let Bud talk to his dad but he just says that so he wont know that he was lying. Once Mr. Lewis left he went inside and jimmy saw him and the band members asked him why he was here. Bud said he was here to meet his dad and jimmy said who is your dad? Bud pointed to Herman E. Calloway and said You know its you and all the eyes jumped to him they were all surprised.
