- There's nothing like being at home.
- Now you need to draw it through all the points to make a U shape.
- Correct you just graphed your first quadratic formula!
- I drew a line since the graph is facing downwards would it be a maximum?
- I found everything and plotted it what do I do now?
- It is a vertical line that passes through the vertex of a parabola the divides it into two congruent halves.
- Ok first we need to find the axis of symmetry.
- f(x)=-x^2-2x+3 is the equation I want to graph.
- Remember how I told by finding the axis of sym. we would find the x value of the vertex now we need to plug in that x value into the equation so just substitute!
- Lets walk on the way because we have to get home.
- Ok so now how do we find the vertex?
- Ok now take your x value from axis of symmetry and put it together with the y value to make a coordinate that's your vertex!
- But were not done yet we need to find the y-intercept.
- Oh wow that was easy
- I found my y-value!
- Yup just the same thing but there is a trick you can use vietas method
- Now you find the x-intercept by plugging y in as 0
- Oh yea Ms.Beard taught me that
- I got it and I plotted on the y-intercept on both sides equally separate from each other.
- Just like the y-intercept but with y as 0.

- Yeah that's right, you can actually listen!
- I think I heard my teacher say to find the y-intercept we need to make x=0 is that right?
